Useful Information for Foreign Tourists in Sapporo: How to Wear a Yukata
Try on the yukata provided in your guestroom
A yukata is a traditional Japanese garment that can be worn as room wear or sleepwear. If your hotel or ryokan guestroom comes with a yukata, you are allowed to wear it during your stay. Follow the steps below to put it on.

1.
A yukata is worn somewhat like a dress shirt over your undergarments. For both men and women, first place the right side across your chest and then cover it with the left side.

2.
Wrap the belt around your waist and tie it in the front. The tied part can be moved to the side if you like. Wearing a yukata tightly without exposing any skin results in a beautiful and trim silhouette.
