Miyanomori Ski Jump Stadium

A big moment at the Sapporo Olympics.
Miyanomori’s Ski Jump Stadium

Miyanomori Ski Jump Stadium is a ski jumping stadium classified as a normal hill, which was newly built, together with Okurayama Jump Stadium, in preparation for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. It is a memorable ski jumping stage, where the trio led by Yukio Kasaya, known as the “Hinomaru Squadron”, took gold, silver and bronze in the “70m-class” at the Sapporo Olympics. With the 1983 renovations, the K point was extended to 90m, and at the same time, artificial turf was installed, making summer jumping also possible. Asia’s first ever “FIS Nordic Ski Championships” were held in 2007, and in recent years, the female jumping event “FIS Jump World Cup Ladies” is also held.
