“Maltheads” specializes in beer and malt whiskey. In addition to Sapporo craft beer, you can also enjoy beers from sister cities Munich, Germany, and Portland, USA. The proprietor, Mr. Kikuo Sakamaki, has passed level 1 of the Japanese Beer Test and is a qualified beer taster. He is a member of the executive committee for the “Sapporo Craft Beer Forest” craft beer festival. He explains, “The climate and natural features of Sapporo are perfectly suited to craft beer. I want people in Sapporo to experience the passion our sister cities have for craft beer.” The shop has a chic atmosphere, with a peaceful wooden interior and subdued lighting. It is a shop where people gather, in search of delicious liquor, and where you can come across rare beers.
