Arinko
A hand-made rice ball shop loved by Sapporo citizens.
Arinko is a handmade rice ball shop founded in 1980. There are five stores in the city, including Sapporo Station, Odori and Maruyama. In addition to being able to take out the delicious Hokkaido rice balls, there is also an eat-in space. The rice balls, which are prepared right in front of you after you have ordered, are carefully made using choice ingredients brought in from all over the country. There are the classics, such as salmon roe and red salmon, and original creations, such as “day-trip saury” made with freshly broiled saury, and the “cheese bonito” has been the most popular item since the store’s inception. Be sure to try the pork miso soup, made with carefully stewed Hokkaido-produced vegetables and pork. Enjoy the delicious taste of rice balls—deeply rooted in Japanese life and loved throughout the ages—at this store frequented by Sapporo citizens.
