Kiroro Snow World is a large-scale ski area on the northwestern slope of Mt. Asaridake that is part of the Kiroro Resort. This Resort is easily accessible from Sapporo, Otaru and Chitose Airport. Hokkaido gets extremely cold and it tends to produce powder snow that does not hold humidity. Kiroro has many snow days and , a large number of skiers and snowboarders visit from outside of Hokkaido and abroad to enjoy the abundance of powder snow. There are tubing, snow rafting and various sledding-related activities at the Snow Park (fee required) which are also very popular with children and visitors from abroad. Visitors can also enjoy riding the small snowmobile. There are two hotels, the Mountain Hotel that is connected to the slopes and the Hotel Piano that has a hot spring, a poot and a spa, in the Resort.
